Questions

Are my images uploaded to any server?

No. Conversions execute entirely on your device using HTML5 canvas rendering and native browser image decoders. Your files never leave your computer or phone.

Which format should I choose?

  • WebP: Recommended for websites and mobile applications. It produces files that are up to 70% smaller than PNG and 25% to 35% smaller than JPG at comparable visual quality.
  • PNG: Best for graphics that require transparent backgrounds, diagrams with sharp lines, or screenshots containing small text.
  • JPG / JPEG: Universal format for photographs and continuous-tone imagery without transparency.
  • BMP: Uncompressed Windows bitmap format used primarily in legacy software and specialized hardware workflows.

What happens to transparent backgrounds when converting to JPG or BMP?

JPG and BMP image formats do not support alpha transparency. When a transparent PNG, WebP, or SVG file is converted to JPG or BMP, transparent pixels are automatically composited against a clean white background.
